Being a beautiful bride does not have to cost a fortune. Proper planning will allow you to look beautiful without spending your life’s savings.

My first recommendation is to have a consultation with a professional hairstylist. Most consultations are free and give you a perfect opportunity to discover if the hairstylist can create a sensational look for your big day. Be sure to bring in photos of your dress, veil and hairstyles you like.

Next, be sure to know the cost of services that you want for your wedding date far in advance, including styling, weaving and coloring. It is a great idea to ask if your hairstylist gives discounts on certain days or special rates for brides. If you have a large bridal party, most hairstylists will give discounts for styling the entire group. However, if going to a professional salon is out of your budget, do not give up—there is still hope. Seek the help of a friend who may be a hairstylist or visit your local cosmetology school. There you may request a student who is nearing graduation, most of whom will spend quality time with you and put extra effort into their work to make sure your day is extra special.

If you are planning on adorning your hair with blissful wedding accessories, I recommend you consider visiting your local craft store to find all sorts of hidden treasures to create your own hair ornaments. With a little superglue and your own selection of hair pins, ribbons, flowers or jewels—whatever you choose—you will not only save money, but you will also have a sentimental ornament to cherish for many years.
